Grazia Doronzio

Grazia Doronzio - Adina (October 11th, 25th , 26th)

Italian soprano Grazia Doronzio is a recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s prestigious LindemannYoung Artist Development Program.

The 2013-2014 season sees her return to Oper Frankfurt as Mimì in La Bohème, Nannetta in Falstaff  followed by her house debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with the Hamburgische Staatsoper. Last season, Ms. Doronzio returned to Michigan Opera Theater for Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, followed by an important debut with Oper Frankfurt as Suzel in L’amico Frtiz. In the spring of 2012 she performed Mimì in La Bohème with Angers Nantes Opéra, Anna in a concert performance of Puccini’s Le Villi at the Konzerthaus, Dortmund, Liù in Turandot with Seattle Opera (debut) and followed by Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Mrs Doronzio has recently gained great success as Mimì in La Bohème at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto and as Zerlina in Don Giovanni in Milwaukee.

Plans include: Medea in Géneve; Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Die Zauberflöte (Pamina) in Lausanne; Mimì in La Bohème Amsterdam.

 

Mario Cassi

Mario Cassi - Belcore (October 5th,  8th, 11th, 12th, 25th , 26th)

Already well-established as one of the most appreciated baritones of his generation, Mr. Cassi regularly collaborates with conductors as Riccardo Muti, Bruno Campanella, Roberto Abbado, in the most prestigious theaters in Italy and abroad.

Mr Cassi recently reported a great success as Dottor Malatesta in Don Pasquale for the season’s opening night at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Antonio Albanese directing, as Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Naples under the baton of Bruno Campanella and in Florence, as Belcore in L’Elisir d’amore at the Staatsoper in Vienna, as Silvio in Pagliacci at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, as Danilo in The Merry Widow at the Teatro Regio in Turin.

Plans: Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) in Monte-Carlo, Arena in Verona and in Tel Aviv; L’Elisir d’amore (Belcore) at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich; Die Zauberflöte (Papageno), La Traviata, Don Giovanni (title role) and Lucia di Lammermoor in Liège; Il Viaggio a Reims (Don Alvaro) in Amsterdam.

Nicola Alaimo - Dottor Dulcamara (October 5th,  8th, 11th, 12th)

Following recent critically-acclaimed performances at the Salzburg Festival (Dandini, La Cenerentola), at the Rossini Opera Festival, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie Brussels, at the Concertgebow in Amsterdam (Guillaume Tell - title role), at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan (Don Pasquale - title role), at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome (Attila, Ezio, cond. Riccardo Muti and Don Pasquale, cond. Bruno Campanella), in London (Belisario - title role, recorded by Opera Rara) at the Opéra de Paris (La Cenerentola - Dandini, La Forza del Destino -Fra Melitone), at the Teatro Real de Madrid (Don Pasquale, cond. Riccardo Muti), Teatro Regio in Turin (Traviata, Giorgio Gérmont), at the Opéra de Monte Carlo (Stiffelio, Stankar, cond. Maurizio Benini), at the Metropolitan Opera (Falstaff, cond. James Levine, L’Elisir d’Amore, cond. Maurizio Benini), in Berlin (L’Elisir d’Amore) Nicola Alaimo returns to Donizetti’s masterpiece.

Future plans include:  Falstaff  at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, in Marseille,  Piacenza; Luisa Miller in Liège; Le Nozze di Figaro in Los Angeles; Simon Boccanegra (Paolo) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona opposite Placido Domingo in the title role; Falstaff at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Don Quichotte at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, Yannis Kokkos directing; Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Paris; La Traviata in London; Il Trovatore and Guillaume Tell in Monte Carlo; Guillaume Tell on tour in Paris with the Opéra de Monte Carlo. Mr. Alaimo will also star in Zaza concert and recording for Opera Rara in London and in other important future productions at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

 

Marilena Laurenza

Marilena Laurenza - Giannetta (October 5th,  8th, 11th, 12th, 25th , 26th)

Marilena Laurenza started her career performing in the main Italian theatres such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Teatro Politeama Greco di Lecce, the Teatro Regio di Torino, the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Rossini Opera Festival di Pesaro, the Festival of Martina Franca, and working with conductors such as Riccardo Chailly and Myung-Whun Chung. More recently, she has performed in Norma, Così fan tutte, L'Osteria di Marechiaro, Adriana Lecouvreur at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, in Il campanello (Mamma Rosa) in Fermo, La traviata in Salerno, Andrea Chénier (Bersi) at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste and L'elisir d'amore and Rigoletto at the Teatro alla Scala, this last toured to Japan.
